Did you know there is a farm - a working farm - in Prince Georges County?
Well, there is!
Miller's farm is one of the oldest working farms so close and convenient to the DC area.
It's been a familiar fixture to generations of Washingtonians for over 150 years.
Centrally located in historic Clinton Maryland, the Miller family has continued to preserve the down home atmosphere that only a true working farm can bring.
Established in 1840, it is one of Maryland's oldest family run working farms. In 1964, the Miller family opened a small market to sell produce grown on their farm. In the late 1970's, the family expanded the operation to include pick your own produce and tailgate markets.
From the highly acclaimed home grown produce, to the exciting new bakery and ice cream shop, and our always full nursery - wait till you see the beautiful mums that we have in bloom! - a trip to Miller's farm will be sure to bring you back to the good ol' days.
We grow tomatoes, strawberries, yellow and green squash, cucumbers, cantaloupe, watermelon, cabbage, kale, collards. turnips, rape, mustard greens, eggplant and peppers. We are also the new home to the Apple Cider donut, Pumpkin Pie ice cream, and many more cakes, pies, and goodies.
For the past couple of years, we have invited schools and daycares to visit our farm and go on the hayride, visit farm animals and see how vegetables are grown. This year we will be doing the same. I extend this invitation to you and your school to visit a real farm.
Share the experience, share being with each other and see things that you might not see everyday!
See you soon!
-Phil Miller
